If you followed the previous day's lesson, then you can soon
start making a reasonable amount of revenue with Adsense.
However, there are also some things which you need to be very
careful about. In this lesson, you will find 7 things which you
MUST follow if you wish to be successful with Adsense.
1. Do not skip putting in your correct information When you
sign up for Google Adsense, ensure that you sign up using your
correct sign-up information. If you do not and Google finds out
then they will immediately cancel your account and not pay you
any money owed to you. Besides that, it can cause problems if
you become big enough so that you have to pay tax on your
earnings.
2. Do not adjust the Adsense code which you are given You
should not try and modify the code that you are given to put
onto your pages. If you make any mistake at all by changing the
code, then Google will know. This could cause your account to be
cancelled.
In addition, do not try and adjust the code so that you receive
false clicks. Google has a whole department dealing with fraud,
and you are likely to get into a lot of trouble if you try and
do this. Obviously, this is not even a thought for most people!
3. Do not put ads on pages which are deemed unsuitable As part
of Google's terms and conditions, you may not put ads either on
your registration, confirmation or thank-you pages. This
probably has something to do with the fact that Google wants to
be able to have the ability to check each page manually without
having to go through each process. Also, that the relevance to
the ads may not be so strong
4. Be careful not to put other context sensitive ads on your
page Google does not want other PPC companies having ads on the
same pages as their. Bare in mind though, that this only
includes context sensitive ads, so you can include other ads
such as Chitika.
5. Do not draw undue attention to your ads Although you can
make you ads noticeable on your page, you are not allowed to ask
someone to click on your ad. This is so that advertisers are
able to have a higher ROI and will continue advertising with
Adwords.
6. Never Ever click on your own ads By no means must you EVER
click on your own ads. This will get you banned very quickly
from Adsense. If you do click on your ad by mistake, then you
should email Adsense informing them of your mistake telling them
the url and time that you did it.
7. Don't be scared off by the above list! Once you learn the
rules of Adsense and follow them closely, you can soon start to
build up a very healthy residual income. As the saying goes:
